Band Alert: Amity Lane
Remember the band, Trust Company? Well, 2 of the members (Kevin and Josh) got a new thing going and it called Amity Lane. The band that brought you heavy yet melodic tunes such as Downfall and Stronger are releasing an album a week from today (Halloween). This is definetly one that I'll be getting the day of the release! For teasers, check out some of their clips online here.
Oh yeah, for some old school stuff, check out some early stuff by Kevin and Co. Check out Peach Fuzz (an early demo version of Downfall) along with a kick a** cover of The Clash tune, "Rock The Casbah"

Classic gaming is back! My Atari 2600
OK, so I've had this old Atari 2600 game in my basement for about 5 years after scoring it in a local Goodwill. Unfortunetly it didn't work after I bought it, so I slowly started troubleshooting it (by slow I mean 5yrs worth of slow) and finally got it working just a few days ago!
Thanks for a few sites such as AtariAge.com and Atari-Garage.com, I was able to identify it as a possible power issue. So after testing the one that came with it with a multimeter, I identified that the AC adapter was bad. I bought a new adapter and walla!, the ol' 2600 woodie fired up!
Now all I have to do is start scoring some of the classics such as Pitfall, Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-man, Joust, Dig Dug, Barnstormer and It will be all good.
Maybe even some day I'll sent it in somehere and get it modified with s-video and component audio/vidio out!!
Man I feel like its 1983.

Windows XP: Remote Desktop key commands
Came across this link off the tech-recipes.com website. Its some useful key command that allow you to do some things as if you were physically on the machine. I use the Windows Remote Desktop feature almost on a daily basis. One of the problems I have is if I need to reboot the machine or perhaps want to check on a process that is running, etc. Here are those key commands that you can use:
- Ctrl+Alt+End: Task Manager (acts like Ctrl+Alt+Del).
- Alt+Page Up or Alt+Page Down: Task Switching (like Alt+Tab and Alt+Shift+Tab).
- Ctrl+Alt+Plus symbol: Puts a snapshot of remote session on clipboard (like PrtScn).
- Ctrl+Alt+Minus symbol: Puts a snapshot of active window in remote session on clipboard (like Alt+PrtScn).

Windows XP: Internet Explorer VML exploit
for those of you using Internet Explore on Windows XP, you might want to consider copying and pasting the following from the the START-RUN line:
regsvr32 -u "%ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VGX\vgx.dll"
This fixes a exploit in IE. Microsoft has not patched this yet. Check out an article on it here: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,2020256,00.asp
Better yet switch to Firefox for your web browser; thats what I use!

New Music: Papa Roach "The Paramour Sessions"
Here's a score for ya. It's the new Papa Roach album, The Paramour Sessions in *.zip format. I personally haven't had a chance to listen to this much but dig tracks entitled "Forever" and "Time Is Running Out". It even has a live cut of "Scars"; their last big hit off the album, Getting Away With Murder. If this is like any of their previous albums, I'm sure it will be in my playlist for weeks...
I'll leavethis download link up here for a week or so for your enjoyment ;)
I'll leave
